Naturals, today I’m hooking you up with 5 Oils for Hair Growth! “What products can I use for hair growth?’ How I do grow my hair long like the other naturalistas posted on your page. ” Naturals, these are the most common questions I get asked ALL the time while running our hair page on Instagram. Truth be told, I normally give the same answer ALL the time. Do you want to know what that is? Growing long healthy hair does not consist of using one specific product or doing one thing in particular.
In fact, it takes trial and error, consistency and patience. I also share this disclaimer, “everyone’s hair does not grow at the same rate. Some naturals are lucky when it comes to the whole genetic factor.” While some are not so lucky and have to be EXTRA patient with their hair. However, it does NOT mean your hair will not grow. It just means you have to continue to care for your hair and cater to the needs of your hair to meet your desired hair goals.
We all know it is every naturalista’s desire to grow long hair. Today, I’m sharing with you some amazing essential oils that help to promote hair growth. My hair has always shared a love for essential oils and I’m literally obsessed with them. I was never one of those people who liked using hair grease. My hair hated grease growing up and I started substituting grease for essential oils. My favorite oil has always been JBCO (Jamaican Black Castor Oil) not included on this list I did a separate article on the benefits of JBCO here. You can also check out 5 benefits of using Coconut Oil for your hair.
There are various methods you can do to aid in promoting hair growth. If you’re into scalp massages (and you should be) I recommend using any of these oils 3-5 times a week to help promote hair growth. If you did not know, studies have shown daily scalp massage increases blood circulation to the hair follicles, conditions the scalp and boost the strength of the hair roots. It also helps thicken the hair and can reverse the loss of hair. Massaging the scalp opens up blood vessels to increase flow and boost circulation. Hair growth has a lot to do with blood circulation.
By doing daily scalp massages it helps increase blood circulation naturally using an essential oil. Not only are scalp massages relaxing but it helps relieve stress. Did you know many women experience breakage as a result of stress? Then they wonder why their hair is not growing and what’s causing the excess breakage. Hair growth is tied to a lot of things including our diet and intake of water we consume daily. I’ve been doing scalp massages consistently for the past month and I can’t wait to share my results with you all. I’m currently on a 90-day scalp massage challenge (my personal challenge) which consist of me massaging my scalp 3-5 times a week. I’ll keep you all posted and I am documenting this challenge (will be sharing a before and after picture).
