Naturals what are some of your favorite ways to protect your hair during the winter months? For me, I love wearing wigs. I feel like wigs are the best way to protect MY hair and it also allows me to take down my braids every two weeks to wash and deep condition my hair. Basically it allows for me to care for hair better than wearing sew-in weave or box braids etc. I love that I’m able to oil my scalp and do scalp massages 3-4 times a week.
What's Your Reaction?
Dear Pretty Black girl, You are dripping with melanin and a force to be reckoned with. You are made of brown sugar, cocoa, honey and gold. You’ve been crowned with kinks as loose as 3A to as tight as 4C. No matter what type of strands you were crowned with, pretty girl, embrace them unapologetically. You are fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God. -Welcome home, pretty girl!
I LOVE WIGS AS WELL. They have definitely worked for me. I’m a four year “natural”, and I’ve learned that you can wear wigs and have/keep beautiful hair underneath.
Yes so true. Wigs are so much more convenient for me and my hair has grown so much by me just leaving it alone and caring for it on a biweekly basis.
What’s the name of the hair that you purchase for your kinky twist? What products are you using as well?
I think it called FreeTress water wave.
Thank you for this! I love wearing hats, but my shortish curly hair can get big. I know that stuffing it under hats and scarves just doesn’t work. Now these ideas are inspiring to me. I will try them next Winter. thank you!
Yes definitely try those. Wearing hats all the time (if not silk material) can be damaging to your hair.
