Chebe Powder for Kinky Hair

Dear Pretty Black girl, You are dripping with melanin and…
So many naturals are wondering can you use Chebe Powder for kinky hair? Ÿes you can, especially on type 4 hair! For those of you who are not familiar with the African Ethnic group Chad, they use Chébé as part of their hair regimen. Often referred to as their haircare secret. They are known to have long naturally coarse hair that grows past their rear ends. They use the homemade mixture to cover their hair and it keeps their hair moisturized and lubricated. Using this mixture they believe this is the reason why their hair never breaks, even from childhood.
Last week we reposted the above photo on our IG page by @Xolovelifeox and so many of our followers had questions about Chebe Powder. The main question was can you use Chebe Powder for Kinky Hair? We did a little research and today we’re sharing with you what we found out about Chebe Powder. Wait there’s more below we’re also blessing you guys with her Chebe Hair Routine.
WHAT IS CHEBE?
Derived from a plant know as Croton Zambesicus (Lavender Croton), it’s an herb that can be found outside the houses in town and villages all over Africa like Ghana, Nigeria and Gambia to name a few.
BENEFITS OF CHEBE
- Helps moisturizes and conditions the hair.
- Strengthens the hair and helps lock in moisture for a longer period of time.
- It improves the density of fine hair
- Gives hair an appearance of thickness over time
- Nourishes the hair follicles
If your hair does not retain moisture well, you may want to give Chebe a try.
DOES CHEBE GROW HAIR
Based on what I’ve read about Chebe Powder it does not make your hair grow faster. Applying Chebe mixed with your favorite oils or cream helps trap in moisture. Which then eliminate brittle easy to snap hair strands or ends. Therefore, eliminating hair breakage and in return helps with length retention. Basically, if your hair is growing at its normal rate of half an inch a month you’ll get to retain the length. So it seems like Chebe aids in length retention. If your hair is moisturized, it will have no problem growing.

Would I personally try Chebe powder? Heck yeah, Sis! I’ve already ordered mine and it’s on THE way (LOL). But all jokes aside, as a naturalista, my biggest struggle is retaining my length. My hair grows, however, retaining the length is my biggest struggle right now. One of my main goals for 2019 is to retain length and get to bra strap length. Maybe I’m a little hard on my hair. I’m almost at my hair goal length for this year. But I still feel like my hair is at a standstill right now and could be a lot longer. So I’m going to give Chebe a shot and I’ll be sharing my results with you guys to see if it works for me. Hope you enjoyed this article and video.
Have you tried Chebe before, if so, please share your thoughts below?
